The Idea of the Garden/Wilderness

This thematic sermon series looks at twin motifs…“The Idea of the Garden” and its counterpart “The Wilderness”. These themes crop up over and over in scripture from beginning to end. We begin in The Garden where God has finished creation and placed Adam and continue with the theme of The Wilderness after he and Eve were expelled. Follow us as we weave our way through these two important contrasting Biblical themes.

Ephesians: A Synopsis of the Christian Faith

We started the new year with this sermon series called Ephesians: A Synopsis of the Christian Faith. More than any other book of the Bible Ephesians gives us the fullest synopsis of the Christian faith as a whole. It does so incredibly through six short but exceedingly compact pregnant chapters. It gives us a panoramic view of virtually all the essentials of the Christian life and faith not found in any other book of the New Testament.

Psalm 84: 1-12

Speaking of the annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem the Psalmist longs for the days he made the journey across hazardous terrain to be in the courts of the Lord. Our own life journey is also a pilgrimage laden with trials and rough terrain. But our path is based on our Deliverer who leads us through the “Valley of Baca (weeping)”. Just as He walked through the valley on His way to the cross so we can do so with the confidence that He is with us.
